Our bodies go through a lot. Between all the unhealthy junk food and drinks, lack of exercise and a hectic daily life? … Sure our bodies (not leaving internal organs out) will be put under a lot of stress which in turn manifests itself in physical and mental problems.
It is important that we give our body some much needed rest, which is where the importance of detox lies. Simply put, Detoxification is a process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances. The detoxification process works by shifting the focus of the body from metabolizing unhealthy foods towards internal cleansing of the body.
The very importance of a detox routine is that it aides in the promotion of the intake of foods and drinks that are either useful in flushing out toxins or are the building blocks of the body cells. I know what you are thinking …. “detox diets are bland and tasteless jor – yuck” or “Ruby!!! Hunger ooo!!!” … relaaax!!! Nor be so … true, there are juice cleanses and smoothie cleanses (which I love, by the way), but if you think you don’t handle fluids well (I know you are going *whew* right now – hahaha), a basic understanding of the importance of detox would reveal that removal of all those foods and other components that stress the body is the main goal. So, by following a simple diet plan you can help your body cleanse itself so that it is restored to its former state – or at least close *grin*.
